Critical Links Releases New Education Micro-Cloud Capabilities
C3 version 4.1 delivers advanced cloud management and deployment to simplify the delivery of e-Learning and digital content everywhere in the world.
Princeton, NJ, USA – December 18, 2018 – Critical Links, the leader in micro-cloud solutions for e-learning, today announced the release of Version 4.1 of the C3 Micro-Cloud for Education, which provides a complete cloud-enabled learning environment for any classroom in the world regardless of internet connectivity or infrastructure limitations.
The new release combines advanced centralized management capabilities with simplified deployment at the edge to streamline the delivery of sustainable education programs worldwide. With the new C3 Cloud Control platform, teachers and administrators have the benefit of analytics that provide insight as to how content and resources are actually being used by students, thereby allowing them to locally tailor their curriculum and programs. Network statistics let administrators optimize resource usage and provide feedback on bandwidth savings of e-Learning projects. And administrators can backup and restore individual micro-clouds easily in the event of environmental or other issues.
Realizing that most schools in developing countries have a limited technology skills and IT expertise, the C3 is now enabled for a Zero Touch Deployment paradigm. Within minutes, teachers can deploy a micro-cloud in the classroom, and access C3 tutorials and videos on advanced functions that are delivered with the platform and are tailored to each user profile (admin, teacher, student).
To further drive the pedagogical process, intelligent video caching (which is being delivered in technical preview with this release) brings further improvements in content caching. This new feature allows videos from popular media websites to be cached locally to enable instant access even in sites with extremely limited or sporadic bandwidth and connectivity. These can include secure HTTPS format videos, as well, with the C3 intelligent caching preserving authentication and statistics metadata required by most of these sites.
“Now in use in over 50 countries worldwide, the C3 Micro-Cloud is enabling e-Learning for millions of students that wouldn’t otherwise be able to have these resources,” stated Charles Foley, Chairman of Critical Links. “We’re finding that nations are overwhelmingly committed to delivering sustainable education throughout their regions, and just needed a way to overcome the infrastructure challenges associated with this effort. Release 4.1 makes deployment of these e-Learning programs more powerful, simpler, cheaper, and faster – which is a good thing overall.”
